Coup might be wrong in principle but is morally right : Thai Ambassador to Indonesia
Bangkok: -- Thai Ambassador to Indonesia Paskorn Siriyaphan said that the military power seizure in Thailand might be wrong in principle but it is morally right.
"What happened in Thailand might be wrong in principle but it is morally right since Thailand is in political deadlock threatening security and the well-being of Thai people for sometime," he told the Jakarta Globe.
"Wait and see what (National Council for Peace and Order) will deliver for the country and people," he said. "The Thai people will be the ones who judge them."
In the interview published on Wednesday, the ambassador said "I did not say that democracy and election is bad but sometimes it is misguided and manipulated, through vote-buying, for the benefit of certain groups at the disguise of people's interest."
That is why Thailand need political reform now before a fresh election, he added. Indonesia, he suggested, should withhold harsh criticism of the military regime.![]()

Reuters: Most Thais support military coup
Bangkok, 29 May 2014 (NNT) - Most Thais have given support to the armed forces and said that a military coup was like a “remedy to heal the nation”, according to a report in foreign media.
Reuters reported that despite anti-coup movements and public backlash from a number of foreign countries, many people in Bangkok have felt that the coup was the perfect solution to end the seven-month long political deadlock.
Coup supporters were often seen giving flowers and providing water to soldiers who were standing guard in the capital.
The news agency also said that there were a lot of groups on Facebook and other social media sites who were in favor of the Army.
A Facebook user mentioned that: “We could care less if some foreigners say the coup was the equivalent of a military dictatorship, because many of them are not well-informed about the level of corruption in Thailand.”![]()

Hej
För dom som ohämmat ger sitt stöd till militären låter nog "dom flesta Thai" bättre än "många människor i Bangkok" , sanningen är ju inte så viktig för dom som stöder militärkupper, juntor, censur och indragen yttrandefrihet.

Mini-guide to Thai Junta DoubleSpeak - A New Era!
Back in December I published a mini-guide to Thai Political DoubleSpeak. With a military junta now in power a new era in DoubleSpeak has begun. Here are my interpretations - leave yours in the comments section.Removing Thaksin’s Influence - removing democratically mandated public servants and lawmakers.Arrested = kidnappedDetained = held hostageTrial = punishmentCrimes = lawful actsNational Council for Peace and Order = National Council for Hate and CrimeLawful acts = crimesRoyal endorsement = unsigned document of dubious originAdvisors = croniesHappiness = a state of continual fearThailand is a failed state = we were very involved in creating conditions which guaranteed Thailand’s failed stateThai Army = criminal gangElections = something we will lose and something we fear very very muchIllegal protests = legal resistanceLese majeste syndicate = ordinary citizens harmlessly engaging in freedom of expression

Hej
