Vi får väl se om några år vem som får rätt.

Thailand’s military junta has set up watchdogs to monitor all kinds of media for content that is deemed as “inciting hatred towards the monarchy” or providing “misinformation” that could potentially complicate the work of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), as the junta calls itself.
The committee is chaired by Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, deputy NCPO chief for special affairs. Its members comprise representatives of agencies including the Royal Thai Police Office, army, navy, air force, Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister’s Office and Public Relations Department.
The meeting agreed to set up four panels to “monitor” the media:
- A panel to follow news on radio and television stations, led by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC);
- A panel to monitor news in the print media, led by the Special Branch;
- A panel to monitor news on the social media, headed by the permanent secretary for information and communication technology; and
- A panel to monitor international news, led by the permanent secretary for foreign affairs.
Upon finding news items deemed detrimental to the NCPO and the royal institution, they are to send a daily and weekly report to Pol Gen Adul and the NCPO chief [army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha].

Bevaka olika medier är inte total censur utan en "light version".
Känt sen tidigare och före kuppen är väl kritik av kungahuset förbjudet.
Kanske kuppmakarna även tar åt sig vad som skrivs i både utländska och sociala medier och är påverkbara av omvärlden.
Tycker detta var ett bra initiativ i alla fall.

Ja, bevisfrågan blir tvisteämnet.
Nu kan jag leva utan den 1000 lapp i svenska kronor vi slagit vad om ang. korruptionen där han utsett Atom samt Joints som inte ens kommenterat IL inlägget som domare.
Det handlar om heder för mig, men knappast för motparten.

kanske passar i en en egen tråd, typ:
"Motståndet börjar växa" eller "Motståndsrörelsen sparkar igång" ?
Jag tror det är naivt att hoppas annat än att militären kommer att se till att de själva har minst lika mycket makt och mammon som förut.
Ja med tanke på hur de lyckats hittills så är det ju knappast ett nedköp att de har nog med makt att avsätta shinawatramaffian och liknande clowner i regeringsställning.
Men det verkar ju som en del så inihelvetes gärna vill se dom misslyckas istället för att se att de faktiskt åstadkommit framgång efter framgång hittills för det thailändska folket.

Thailand’s corruption index improves markedly for the first half of the year
In the last survey conducted in December last year, corruption index was registered at 39 out of a total score of 100, he said, adding that the improvement was a special case because the survey was conducted during the period when the National Council for Peace and Order launched a cleanup campaign to get rid of corruption and all unlawful activities such as illegal parking by mini vans and increased examination of corrupt practices. These, he said, have boosted the feel-good public sentiments.
Mr Thanawat disclosed that the survey showed that the rate of under-the-table payment to officials and politicians by the private sector to secure procurement or development projects had declined to 15-25 percent of the project costs from an average of 25-35 percent.
If the corruption index can be retained at above 40 until the end of the year, Thailand’s Corruption Perception Index would be improved.
Meanwhile, Mrs Saowanee Thairungroj, the university rector, said 54 percent of the 2,400 survey samplings admitted that corruption problem has become more serious mainly due to the law which empowers authorities concerned to use their discretion which is conducive to corruption.
The survey showed 20.8 percent of the corruption was in the form of bribes and rewards; 13.8 percent in the form of financial benefits paid in return for benefits.
The West might regret forcing Thailand into a corner

Individual countries that have also issued strongly worded statements against the coup include the UK, France, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. A closer look reveals that the Europeans and Americans have joined forces to apply pressure on Thailand to hold an election as quickly as possible, release all political detainees, and ensure freedom of expression. The penalty for not doing so will be the imposition of more measures to isolate Thailand from the international community.
This international pressure against Thailand is totally unjustified. Thailand has so far done nothing to harm the broad interests of the US or the EU. Business leaders representing the foreign chambers of commerce in Thailand have expressed confidence in the direction being taking to restore calm to the country.
Without the coup, political polarisation would have got worse and threatened to tear apart the fabric of the social order. The authorities continue to discover caches of war weapons and ammunition around the country, stockpiled by hard-core supporters of the previous government. These weapons were intended to be used to create violence in Bangkok by militia following what is generally known as the Khon Kaen model. Through this arrangement, the armed rebels would stage a takeover of the 20 provinces in the Northeast in defiance of the Bangkok centre. No country in the world would allow this to happen. Isn't this model similar to what the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is trying to achieve in the war-torn nations of Iraq and Syria?
By pressuring Thailand to hold an election without first forging political reforms, the US and the EU are effectively asking that Thailand remain a divided nation. A weak and polarised Thailand could, indeed, benefit the US and EU. It would fit world powers' traditional divide-and-rule formula.
The blatant interference in our internal affairs by superpowers in the Western world is unacceptable. As a sovereign and independent nation, Thailand has every right to put its house in order in its own way. Public opinion is mostly in favour of the coup, which has effectively restored order and ended the bloodshed. Now, the Thai people are looking forward to a reform process that hopefully will lay the foundation for political, economic and social stability. All now depends on the commitment and the capability of the military regime to guide Thailand through this transition.
It is likely that US and EU relations with Thailand will deteriorate over the next three to six months. This is unfortunate. A slackening of ties would also hurt the overall standing of the Asean, with Thailand being at the core of the regional bloc. Other Asean members have so far stood idle while Thailand is bullied. If the US and EU continue to play hardball politics with Thailand, and Asean proves to be a paper tiger, Thailand might have no choice but to strengthen relations with China or Russia. The BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - are eager to expand their membership and should ready to welcome Thailand into the fold. If Thailand is driven into a corner, it will have no choice but to walk a new path in its international relations.

Lite svårt för henne att driva korrumperad politik som caretaker med bakbundna händer och allt övervakat av EC så blir det ju bättre. Inga stora feta projekt med feta mutor startades under de första 6 månaderna i år på grund av detta.

Vid tidigare kupper har både korruptionen och militärbudgeterna ökat.
