The body of a 47-year-old Swedish man was found hanged in a Phuket hotel on Monday afternoon, according to Patong police.

A call was made to emergency services just before 4pm after a housekeeper made the discovery at the unnamed luxury hotel.

Investigators found the body of Mr Fred Larrson in the bathroom wearing only a bathrobe. He had a nylon rope around his neck and leg that was attached to the door handle.

It’s believed he had been dead for around 3-4 hours. There were no visible injuries on the body and no signs of a struggle in the room.

The body was sent for autopsy and the relevant authorities informed.
