Jaha då är det slutbolmat i Pattaya!
Authorities have confirmed to the local press that the new no smoking regulations announced this week will apply to Pattaya.
This week the Thai Ministry of Health and the Government announced that within 90 days of November 6, 2018, smoking within 5 meters of any public building will be against Thai Law.
A public building includes hotels, restaurants, bars, government buildings, retail stores, discos, massage shops, gogos, convenience stores, etc.
Fines of 5000 baht will be applied to anyone caught smoking in front of one of these establishments. This new law will essentially make it against the law to smoke anywhere in public in the major nightlife areas such as Walking Street or LK Metro.
Authorities stated increased enforcement over current laws of not smoking inside businesses will also take place.
Finally, changes are taking place to the legal marketing allowances in Thailand. Using the word sexy or low tar or advertising smoking as fun is forbidden.
