Mycket stökigt i Bangkok idag.

Jag hörde ett rykte igår, om att MC-taxi gubbarna i vårt kvarter hade fått "erbjudande" om att delta i protesterna idag.

Trot om ni vill, men det är mycket få förare på Taxistationen idag, de är ju "Businessmen"

Höger extremisterna i PAD fortsätter att skada Thailand, och det börjar se illa ut för Demokrati förespråkarna i landet, diktatur är nog inte långt borta igen.

Det är sorgligt att se höger extrema rika försöka störta regeringen, och militären får dom säkert med sig som vanligt.

Läste det här idag i Bangkok post.

"If the PAD succeeds in ousting Samak, it will be a huge setback for Thai democracy," Prof Thitinan said. "It will be the crowning success for the right-wing conservative contingent who are against election-based democracy."

PAD leaders, such as retired Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang, have said the Thai electorate is too uneducated to vote in honest politicians and continues to sell its votes to the highest bidders.

Bad så sent som igår Älskling hålla sig ifrån det där skiten så det inte händer henne något & då svarade hon att hon hade bästa sitt plats framför Tv´n när det gällde att kolla det där! I morrn ska hon dock följa med & visa sitt stöd för Samak , nån bil parad i närheten av demonstranterna tydligen , hela familjen ska åka , ungar & hela balletten .. inte mycket man kan göra här ifrån då tyvärr , man får ju bara hoppas allt går lugnt & städat till väga!

Endast 150 som demonstrerade för Samak, mindre än jag väntat mig. Nåja, populär har han ju aldrig varit.

Men han går på och skäller som en ilsken pitbull i sin TV-show "Talk samak style" på NBT nu på morgonen. Undrar var den här dagen slutar?

Om man får tro på IL så håller tydligen Samaks pengar på att ta slut . 150 demonstranter !

Ja... vi har nu reagerat från svensk håll och omdirigerat våra tidigare så populära hjälpsäningar till Bkk, där kända forummedlemmar tidigare delat ut matpaket till svältande bargirls. Lite nytt om PAD ifrån Bangkok Post.

Det är tydligen inte bara jag som tvivlar på deras avsikter och moral längre.

PAD has failed me and, I believe, many of its supporters for its disrespect for the rule of law, manifest in the storming of the NBT building and threatening its staff, defiance of the court order and for its continuing occupation of Government House.

Remember that famous quote by the late Chinese paramount leader Deng Xiaoping: "It doesn't matter whether a cat is white or black, so long as it catches mice."?

These words of wisdom are, in my opinion, fittingly cited for the People's Alliance for Democracy, which you could compare to a white cat for its previous commendable activities in countering the Thaksin regime.

But lately, however, and to the great disappointment of many of its former admirers, myself included, the white feline is turning black, although it is still catching mice.

PAD's gross miscalculation in its decision to storm the building of the state-run National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) last week with the aim of replacing the station's news broadcasting programmes with those produced by Sondhi Limthongkul's ASTV cable station has badly tainted the movement's reputation to the extent that quite a substantial number of its supporters have lost faith in it. The badly thought-out strategy earned the condemnation of all the media organisations, including the Thai Journalists Association and the National Press Council.

PAD's raid and eventual occupation of Government House to press for the resignation of Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej also drew heavy criticism from the public and academics alike, although their rhetoric was not as harsh as that which followed the NBT raid.

Despite the lashing, PAD core leaders remain defiant and determined to retain their hold on Government House, although protesters have vacated all of the other state properties they had earlier occupied, including the NBT building.

Their refusal to move out of the Government House grounds under an order from the Civil Court reminds me of exiled former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's challenge to the integrity of the Thai judicial system when he jumped bail and refused to stand trial in court and defend himself against all the corruption charges filed against him. Although the Civil Court made an about-turn a day afterward to revoke its eviction order, PAD has unwittingly bruised the image of the judiciary which has proven itself as a trusted last resort in light of political crises like the one besetting the country at this time.

PAD's five core leaders who are now facing arrest for insurrection appear determined to finish off the Samak government in a final putsch, no matter the consequences. But will the departure of the government provide a solution or a way out of the current political predicament? The answer is no.

The PAD leaders appear not to have any answers either, although they have been trying to sell their idea of "new politics", supposedly a solution to our political predicament.

Unfortunately, the idea has met with a cool response.

Mr Samak's resignation will at best get rid of a bad-mouthed prime minister who will nevertheless be replaced by someone from the People Power party, which will not be acceptable to the PAD anyway.

The House dissolution option is not promising either as it most likely will see the same old faces on the benches and the return of the same vicious cycle of money politics.

And then we'll be back to square one with probably a new round of street politics by the PAD or by its nemesis, the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, should the Democrats triumph in the poll.

Civil disobedience used by the PAD to justify its "final battle" against the Samak administration has its limitations. At the least, it should not cause unnecessary hardship for the public. The closure of the airports in Hat Yai, Phuket and Krabi last week by PAD supporters was totally unjustified. But thanks to the common sense of state enterprise union leaders allied with the PAD, we did not have to endure power blackouts or water supply cuts to put more pressure on the government.

PAD has failed me and, I believe, many of its supporters for its disrespect for the rule of law, manifest in the storming of the NBT building and threatening its staff, defiance of the court order and for its continuing occupation of Government House.

But given its merits as the only viable political force to counter-balance the Thaksin regime, should we dump this now "black cat" for its misguided forays and allow the mice to run amok and wreak havoc? My answer to that would have to be no. But I do hope that the wicked black cat will do a rethink and make amends and not get carried away by the temptation of power.

Moral är något de flesta politiker saknar i Thailand, även Samak och Thaksin.

Polischefen i Bangkok fick sparken igår och ersätts med någon som enligt uppgifter är mer villig att använda våld mot demonstranter.

Troligt scenario blir att polisen under natten eller kvällen kommer att "missa" när DAAD och UDD anfaller PAD och det hela eskalerar till gatuvåld med påkar och annat. Sen skickar Samak in kravallpolis för att selektivt gå lös på demonstranter.

Sen när röken skingrats, ett antal förmodligen dött och ett helt gäng ligger på sjukhus kan man fråga sig vart Thailand är på väg?

För inte fasen kommer detta att lösa några problem, det är mer som att försöka släcka en storbrand med enkel handspruta. En tillfällig lindring.

Jag hoppas ju på ett annat scenario men...

Jag ar radd att MaiChai's scenario mycket val kan intraffa. Vad jag har forstatt har dock de flesta mer "moderata"

demonstranter redan lamnat (iaf om man laser pa frugans Hi5), delvis beroende pa att de inte langre kan sta for

PAD-ledningens metoder och delvis for hotet om vald. Manga av de som ar kvar ar val mer av typen som garna

ser sammanstotningar men inte nodvandigtvis ett battre Thailand.

Jag tror också att risken för ett blodbad ökar för varje dag, dom som drar igång sånt här leker med elden.

Det är bara att hålla tummarna, men Samak har snart inget annat val än att slå till.

Upprorsmakarna har hållit på i Bangkok över 100 dagar nu, och den senaste veckans händelser är omöjliga att blunda för.

Hoppas förnuftet segrar, och att förlorarna börjar jobba för att vinna nästa val, inte att förstöra Thailand.
